Maximo Basic - Preventive Maintenance Module

Preventive Maintenance Module.

The Preventive Maintenance (PM) module in Maximo is designed to help organisation and  maintain their assets efficiently by scheduling regular maintenance tasks. Here are the key components and functionalities:

Preventive Maintenance:- PM records are templates for scheduled maintenance work. They include details such as job plans, safety plans, and other relevant information. These records are used to generate work orders for preventive maintenance tasks.

Job Plans:- Job plans outline the steps, resources, and materials needed for maintenance tasks. They are associated with PM records to ensure that each maintenance task is performed consistently and efficiently.

Master PMs: Master PMs are templates that can be used to create multiple PM records. They help standardise maintenance tasks across similar assets or locations.

Scheduling:-

1)Time-Based PMs: Maintenance tasks are scheduled based on elapsed time since the last maintenance or a specific start date.

2)Meter-Based PMs: Maintenance tasks are triggered based on asset usage, such as hours of operation or distance travelled.

3)Combination: Some PMs use a combination of time and meter-based criteria to schedule maintenance.

Additional Functionalities:

PM Hierarchies: You can create parent-child relationships between PM records to manage related maintenance tasks more effectively.

Seasonal PMs: These are PM records that are activated or deactivated based on seasonal requirements.

Routes: PMs can be scheduled for assets on a route, allowing for efficient management of maintenance tasks across multiple locations.

The Preventive Maintenance module in Maximo ensures that maintenance tasks are performed regularly and efficiently, helping to extend the life of assets and reduce downtime.

Note:- For the creation of PM record you have to select one of these field value (Asset, Location or Routes).

Maximo Basic- Security Module

Security Module.

The Security Module in Maximo is designed to manage and control access to the system’s features and data. Here are the key components and functionalities:

Authentication:- This process use to verifies the identity of users trying to access the system. Maximo system supports various authentication methods, including internal Maximo authentication, Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP), Single Sign-On (SSO), and Security Assertion Markup Language (SAML).

Authorisation:- Determines what actions a user can perform and what data they can access.

Security Groups:- Users are assigned to security groups, which define their access rights and permissions within the system. Each group can have specific privileges tailored to different roles within the organization. These groups control access to applications, features, and data. You can configure standard security groups for general access and Work Centre security groups for specific roles and interfaces.

User Management:- This application use to creating and managing user records, which include user IDs, passwords, and security profiles. User records can be synchronised with external directory servers using cron tasks, ensuring that user information is up-to-date.

Additional Functionalities

Login Tracking: Monitors and logs user login activities to enhance security and detect potential unauthorised access.

Encryption: Implements encryption properties to protect sensitive data and communications.

Maximo Basic- Planning Module

Planning Module.

The Maximo Planning Module is a comprehensive tool used to plan and manage maintenance work efficiently. Here are some important components and functionalities:

1) Job Plans:- Job plan is detailed descriptions of the work to be performed for a work order. They plan all the steps, resources, and materials needed for each type of job. In Job plan you can define the each task level duration to complete the task. Whether it’s preventive maintenance, corrective maintenance, or inspections, job plans ensure consistency and efficiency by breaking down the work into manageable steps.

Note:- Once Job plan applies to work order, it's consider as work plan. If you will do any changes in work plan it will not affect the job plan.

2) Routes:- In Routes application we define the lists of related assets or locations that need inspection or maintenance. It simplify the creation of hierarchies of work orders, making it easier to manage multiple tasks across different assets or locations. Here we can define how work order hierarchy will look based on route stop.
Below is the option to create the work order based on route stop.
i)  Child work order.
ii)  work order task
iii)  Entries in work order's multi Asset, Location and CI table

3) Safety:-  This application helps inform workers of potential dangers in their work environment and provides information to protect them. You can define hazards, precautions, Lock out/Tag out, and procedures, and associate these records with assets, locations, preventive maintenance (PM), and work orders. With help of safety plan you can ensure work site is safe before the actual work start.

4) Resource Levels Management: This application allows you to create threshold levels to calculate resources for dynamic job plans. It helps in managing and allocating resources effectively based on the requirements of different job plans.
