3. Contract Module.

 I. Master contract:-  Master contract  is a contract where you define your standard term and condition for the vendor.

II. Terms and Conditions:- This application use to create a library for terms and Conditions that used by the organization.

Note:- Terms and Conditions can be associated with PR,RFQ,PO and Invoice application.

III. Purchase contracts:-  This is a agreed contract between organization and vendor for providing either material or services, or both for a defined period of time.

There are 3 types of contract:-

       a. Blanket.
       b. Purchase.
       c. Price.

IV. Lease/Rental contracts:- This contract is useful for the organization if do not want to buy asset. The use of this contract is at the end of lease contract either organization can buy the asset or return it. For rental contract, organization can terminate the contract and return the asset.

Note:- This contract refers to rotating tools and items.

V. Labor rate contracts:- This contract is useful if organization is maintaining external labor record in Maximo system and tracking there's working hour. This contract define the hourly rate of external labor based on the skill set.

VI. Warranty contracts:- This contract define the contract between organization and third party service provider who are responsible to maintain organization assets or location for period of contact.

 Asset Module

2. Asset Module.

 I. Asset application:-  This application is use to create asset record and respective details such as parent, status, location, vendor and maintenance cost for each and every asset to store.

II. Asset template:- Asset template use to create a template to specify common details of asset that can be apply to multiple assets. You can define meters, meter group, spare parts and respective specification.

III. Locations:- Locations application use to track the assets for specific location. Location can be physical or virtual. Location is useful to find the movement of any asset.

Note:- It's always beneficial to define hierarchy of system and network. So, easily you can track your asset.

IV. Meters:- Meter application use to create or modify the meter details. You can associate one or multiple meters to asset or location to track the performance.

There are 3 types of meter available in maximo.

      a. Continuous meter:-  This meter reading is always increasing over time unless it'sget reset manually. For example milage meter in car or bike.

      b. Gauge meter :- Gauge meter is the meter where numeric reading fluctuate over the time. For example tyre pressure meter in car.

      c. Characteristic meter:- This meter use to observ the characteristic. For example to check the oil quality.

V. Meters group:- This application use to group similar type of meter and later can be used in asset and location application.

VI. Relationship:- Relationship application use to describe the relationship between assets or asset and location. It can be either unidirectional or bidirectional.

VII. Condition monitoring:-  This application use to define the acceptance limit of asset based on organization  requirements and based on the define limits system can initiate preventive or emergency management of that asset.

Note:- You can setup crontask to generate workorder automatically  based on defined condition of asset.

VIII. Failure code:- You can use this application to define the hierarchy of failure code for your organization asset. It can help you to analyse the history of asset failure history and define the suitable preventive Maintenance schedule in the system.

 Administration Module

1. Administration Module.

     I. Organization Application:- This application is useful to setup organization level data or master data of your organisation. You must define at-least one organization and site.

Either you have one  organization or multiple organization setup. You must define the below property.

- Company set and Item set :- use the Set application to create item set and company set.

- Default item status.

- Base currency.

- General ledger account:- Use the chart of accounts application to create general ledger account.

You can configure your business process that suits or best fit by defining settings for various application options.

Note:- You must create currency code before creating organization record.

 IBM Maximo is  an asset management system used by various industries. It helps organisations to maintain there asset in an efficient way to reduce the maintenance cost and increase the life span. With the help of Maximo, organisation can schedule preventive/ predictive maintenance to reduce downtime of asset and maximise the uptime. With Maximo asset management, you can manage asset operation and business process. You can define all the aspects of your business in system. You can create and manage users access level. with help of this you can define which application, site and options user can access.  

Maximo Asset management work on Modules and each module have respective list of application.

IBM provide add-ons facilities with Maximo asset management. It means, you can get specific package/solutions based on industries.
